Pencil Red has been selected for its upright habit, and contrasting tipped new growth of rich red foliage which turns to a deep green once mature. During Spring to Summer, it produces dainty cream flowers which attracting birds and beneficial insects.

Pencil Red has a variety of uses for narrow hedging or screening.

Will tolerate short periods of dry or frost once established. This plant is psyllid resistant.
